The Maribyrnong Swifts end of season trip is a wonderful way to celebrate the end of another successful year at the club. In what has become an annual tradition, we will hold it this year at the Spring Creek Horse Rides and Accommodation in Bellbrae, approximately 80 minutes drive from Melbourne.
Spring Creek is a beautiful 60 hectare property adjacent to the Great Otway National Park, owned by the Myers family (parents of Swifts committee member Matilda Myers), who has kindly allowed us to make use of their picturesque house and grounds. For more information about the property, see their website (http://www.springcreekhorserides.com.au/about).
A relaxing weekend away, there are plenty of activities to suit everyone including horse riding (additional fee applies), walks around the property, bird watching and a camp fire in the evening. You can also just chill with a book.
Partners and dogs are welcome.
As a newbie to the Swift family last year, I went on this trip and it was simply lovely, so would especially encourage first-year Swifts to participate.
Date: Friday 10 November – Sunday 12 November. You can choose to come for one night, two nights or just a day trip. Please indicate your preference when purchasing tickets.
Cost: regardless of whether you are staying one or two nights, a flat fee will apply ($20 per person for a bed; or $10 per person if camping (byo tent and sleeping mat). Linen is available for an additional $10 but it is easier if everyone just bring their own sleeping bag and pillow.
Food: BYO food and drink.
Activities: this is a very informal gathering so no formal activities will be organised. We can assist with organising the horse-riding on the Saturday, so please indicate during ticketing if you want to go.
